Worktop Fabrication Process

All of our stone worktops are fabricated in stages at our dedicated fabrication workshop, where every part of the process is handled by experienced professionals. We combine modern stone fabrication machinery with skilled hand finishing to ensure accuracy, consistency and a high-quality finish on every worktop.

Precision Cutting of Stone Slabs

The fabrication process begins with precision cutting using our state-of-the-art bridge saws. We operate three professional bridge saw machines within our workshop, allowing us to cut stone slabs accurately to size using prepared measurements and templates. This ensures clean, straight cuts and perfectly proportioned worktop sections, ready for the next stage of fabrication.

Polishing and Edge Preparation

Once cut, the stone moves to the polishing stage, where a specialist stone polishing machine is used to refine the surface and edges. This prepares the worktop for detailed finishing and ensures a smooth, high-quality edge prior to final shaping.

Cut-outs, Shaping and Finishing

The worktops are then passed to our sawyers and finishing team, where all functional and decorative details are completed. This includes:

  • Sink cut-outs
  • Hob and appliance openings
  • Tap holes
  • Edge profiles

Much of this work is carried out by hand, allowing for careful control and attention to detail, particularly around visible edges and cut-outs. For more complex designs, bespoke features or detailed shaping, we also use our CNC stone cutting machine, which enables high-precision machining where required.

Quality Control and Preparation for Installation

Throughout fabrication, each worktop moves through clearly defined stages within the workshop, with skilled specialists responsible for each part of the process. This structured approach ensures accuracy, consistency and a high-quality finish across every project.

Before leaving the workshop, every worktop undergoes a final inspection and is carefully prepared for delivery, ensuring it arrives ready for professional installation.
